Glennwood Elementary PTA

Glennwood's PTA Happenings:

-Lunar New Year Festival (Year of the Cabbit):

Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Legacy Park – 500 S. Columbia Drive; Decatur, GA 30030. $10 per person General Admission.

For most Asians, the year 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit. But for Vietnam, it’s the Year of the Cat. And because in Decatur we honor our unique diversity, we have created our own Lunar New Year Spirit Animal: the Cabbit. We held a contest for who could illustrate the most auspicious Cabbit amongst all our young Decatur artists, and the winner was 9-year-old Emily Barcham whose drawing will be sold on a limited edition mug. See the mug and other merchandise for sale. You can pre-order your mug or other merch now by clicking on Buy Tickets.

About Us:

 What We Do

The PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering students, families, and communities in education. We work year-round to build a strong community and raise funds to support our school, educators, and students.

Our main fundraising sources are the Grill Off, Read-A-Thon, Auction, and corporate and family sponsorships. Through these efforts and relationships, we help fund many offerings and programs such as teacher grants, field studies, facility improvements, and classroom needs. Additionally, throughout the year we host events to help our community connect with and get to know one another.

Who We Are

The PTA comprises parents and staff affiliated with Glennwood Elementary School, working together to build community through school events, committees, and initiatives. Our Board is made up of Glennwood parents, along with our Principal, Dr. Holly Brookins. The Board meets once a month to discuss upcoming events, goals, needs, and concerns raised in our community. Meetings are open to the community, and we invite you to join us to share your ideas. Please reach out to a PTA Board member for more information.
