Glennwood Elementary PTA

Welcome Back to School Glennwood Eagles!!

On behalf of the Glennwood PTA, welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! Although we know this year will be different than the past years, we anticipate another great year at Glennwood! The Glennwood PTA exists to support the students, staff and parents at Glennwood Elementary, as well as the school itself. Our goals are to build a strong community among educators, parents and students, and to raise funds to be used to support the school. The PTA is fun for parents and a great way to interact with and be pivotal part of the Glennwood Community and we invite you all to join the PTA*.

What We Do

The PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering students, families, and communities in education. We work year-round to build a strong community and raise funds to support our school, educators, and students.

Our main fundraising sources are Fall Carnival, Read-A-Thon, Auction, and corporate and family sponsorships. Through these efforts and relationships, we help fund many offerings and programs such as teacher grants, field studies, facility improvements, and classroom needs. Additionally, throughout the year we host events to help our community connect with and get to know one another.

Who We Are

The PTA comprises parents and staff affiliated with Glennwood Elementary School, working together to build community through school events, committees, and initiatives. Our Board is made up of Glennwood parents, along with our Principal, Dr. Holly Brookins. The Board meets once a month to discuss upcoming events, goals, needs, and concerns raised in our community. Meetings are open to the community, and we invite you to join us to share your ideas. Please reach out to a PTA Board member for more information.

Passive Fundraising Message:

While many of the PTA’s usual activities have been reimagined, we are still actively working to serve our Glennwood community. School supplies, teacher appreciation, virtual events, and PPE are just some of the ways we’ve been working to support our community this year. Without the PTA’s annual fundraisers, and as we all hunker down for the holidays, here are a couple ways you can raise funds to support our students, teachers, and an eventual safe return to the building, just by going about your daily routines. These programs do not cost any extra money on your behalf, but over time, they will add up to make a difference!

Eagle Happenings:

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) subcommittee of Glennwood’s PTA has put together a choice board filled with activities centered on Black History, Our History, for families to engage with throughout the month of February. These activities are meant for you to explore on your own time with your family. Please use this link to access the choice board. And a big thank you to our DEI committee for taking the time to put together this wonderful resource!
